Court blames colleagues for man's drinking, death
(China Daily)
Updated: 2009-01-16 10:43 The widow of a man who died after heavy drinking feels her late husband's colleagues are to blame for his death. The man fell into a coma and died of alcoholism at a hospital days later following heavy drinking with his colleagues last May. His wife sued his colleagues for 60,000 yuan ($8,780) in compensation because she felt they persuaded her husband, who suffered from high blood pressure, to drink too much. A court in Fushun, Liaoning province, ordered the seven to compensate the family. After they appealed to a higher local court, they were still blamed because they knew about the man's blood pressure. |
