Economists come to Shenyang for academic exchange

Five economists from Center for the Study and Research on International Development (CERDI) of France came to Shenyang, Liaoning province for academic exchange on September 24. They stayed in the city for 2 days and then went to Dalian.

All the economists are from IDREC (Institute of Research on Economics of China) which is founded in 1995 and a part of CERDI. The institute locates in Auvergne of France which has friendly cooperation with Liaoning province. Also, the institute signed a 3-year academic cooperation agreement with Northeast University of Finance & Economics last year.

During the 2 days, they have exchanged their ideas on technological innovation and so on with experts from Chinese Academy of Social Science, Chinese Academy of Science, Liaoning Bureau of Science & Technology as well as Liaoning Institute of Statistics.

"What we study may not benefit enterprises immediately, but it will do well to both enterprises and the local government in a long term," said Jean-François Brun, one of the economists.
