SEOUL - An express bus on Saturday fell off a sea-spanning bridge in South Korea, killing at least 12 people and injuring 12 others.

The bus, with 23 passengers and a driver aboard, burst into mud 10 meters below the Incheon Bridge, some 30 km west of the capital Seoul, at around 1:20 p.m. on Saturday. Local media reported earlier that there are more than 40 people on the bus.

At least 12 people, including two kids, were killed in the accident, and 12 others were injured, eight seriously, according to local police.

Police said the bus, heading to Incheon International Airport from the southeastern city of Pohang, was trying to turn away from a car parking on the road when the accident took place.

The victims have yet been identified, the police said.
