Jose Luis Calva, better known in tabloids as Mexico City's 'cannibal,' recovers from his injuries at a hospital in Mexico City, Oct. 8, 2007, days after he was hurt while trying to escape police. Calva, an aspiring horror novelist, was arrested after police found the carved-up torso of his 32-year-old girlfriend Alejandra Galeana, in his closet, a leg in his refrigerator and bones in a cereal box, according to a Mexico City prosecutors' spokesman. Investigators were trying to determine if chunks of fried meat found in a pan were human. [Agencies]
