Italians remember St. Dominico

A St. Domenico statue is covered with snakes at the beginning of the St. Domenico's procession in Cocullo, central Italy May 3, 2007. Every year, on the first Thursday of May, snakes are placed onto the statue of St. Dominico and then the statue is carried in a procession through the town. St. Dominico is believed to have saved the lives of many who were bitten by snakes.  [Reuters]
