Students taken hostage in Philippines

A student who was taken hostage in a school bus is carried by Senator Ramon Revilla Jr. in Manila March 28, 2007. Two armed men took over the school bus in on Wednesday and were holding 32 children and two teachers hostage, police and television reports said. It appeared they wanted to highlight the lack of educational opportunities for children from a local slum community. Revilla Jr. entered the bus to talk to the gunmen and try to persuade them to surrender. [Reuters]
