Sympathizers of Cochabamba's governor clashe with supporters of
Bolivia's President Evo Morales during violent clashes in Cochabamba, about 400
km (248 miles) southeast of La Paz, January 11, 2007. Wielding sticks and
stones, thousands of supporters of President Evo Morales called for Gov. Manfred
Reyes Villa to step down as they gathered in the main square of the city of
Cochabamba on Thursday, a local radio station reported. [Reuters]
