Punish erring officials

Comment on "Chinese cabinet warns over eviction of farmers" (April 4, China Daily)

I think it's a very wise policy, especially because some local officials' behavior is no better than that of landlords, who exploited farmers in the old days.

I hope that the penalties for such illegal acts are severe, for they will prevent recurring tragedies and guarantee that people's interests are safeguarded.
