Comment on "Political reform and Mao today" (China Daily, July 1)

Neither the Chinese public nor Chairman Mao Zedong is to be blamed for today's situation. In fact, the slow pace of political reform since Mao's death is to be blamed for the social ills of today.

People miss Mao because they want social equality, not because they want to go back to the life that prevailed during his times.

People's obsession with times gone by reflects the lack of security in today's society. The article hits the point.
