A lot of netizens have criticized a young woman for saying she would not have a child because her husband earned only 2,500 yuan a month. But her resolve should not be taken as selfishness or snobbery, says an article on Rednet. Excerpts:

Chinese culture has always derided snobbery. That's why it is not difficult to understand why so many netizens have criticized a young woman for saying she would remain childless because her husband didn't earn enough to bring up a child properly.

In her article, the woman has said a couple should try to earn enough before thinking of children. She has written that her husband doesn't earn enough to pay for sound education and other necessities of a child. As a poor woman, she has just made a choice according to her financial condition.

Therefore, one should take her difficulties into consideration instead of criticizing her blindly. The poor may make harsh decisions, but that's really not their fault.
