Public days' idea at sessions

The media bring us the deliberations and developments of the annual sessions of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Though people can watch the NPC deputies and CPPCC members on TV or read about them in newspapers, many of them would still like to talk with them face to face.

The hotels where the deputies and members stay, however, are not open to the public. Only hotel staff and reporters are allowed to enter. I wonder whether it is possible to set aside one or two "public days" to allow ordinary citizens to watch the proceedings and interact with the NPC deputies and CPPCC members.

I know the number of people eager to participate in the "public days" would be far beyond the capacity of the venues. Hence, people who want to attend the "public day" should apply online or through the telephone. The applicants' list can be shortened using some criteria, allowing only a limited number of people to take part. And security control must be tight to prevent someone from spoiling the event.
