London -- Hundreds of Chinese students in London will go to Old Palace Yard on Saturday, to protest silently against the slanted reports and comments carried by the British media like BBC and some newspapers, according to people familiar with the case.

Chinese expats in Briton, including many students, were angered by the distorted and lopsided British media coverage of Tibetan separatists’ violent riots in China, and the disrupted London leg of Olympics torch relay in early April.

There were actually thousands of Chinese people queuing along the relay route on April 6, expressing their heartfelt support for the Beijing Olympic Games, in a peaceful manner. However, many British news organizations carried out their news pieces with a collective ignorance to the voice of the Chinese demonstrators, focusing only on interviews and photo opportunities offered to pro-Tibetan-secession activists.

“Such an utter ignorance and indifference is intolerable”, said one person close to the source, “the overt, balanced and objective nature of media was obviously breached by these news organizations. They had not only mislead British and global audience into a misconception of Tibet and China, but also hurt the Chinese people’s dignity”.

The details of the silence demonstration are not yet available, however, it is said that the number of participants will be in hundreds.
