BEIJING--The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is a grand celebration of sport, peace and friendship, said chief organizer Liu Qi at the closing ceremony of the Games held in the National Stadium in north Beijing on Sunday night.

"The Beijing Olympic Games is a testimony of the fact that the world has its trust rested upon China," said Liu. "The Chinese people, teeming with enthusiasm, have honored the commitments they solemnly made."
