Portugal's Evora wins men's triple jump

BEIJING--World champion Nelson Evora of Portugal won the men's trimple jump gold medal at the Olympic Games.

It was Portugal's first gold medal since the Atlanta Olympic in 1996.

Evora jumped 17.67 meters for the gold, followed by Britain's Phillips Idowu with 17.62m and Leevan Sanders of Bahamas with 17.59m.
