China adds 4 more to gold tally

The day's fourth gold was won by He Chong, in the men's 3m springboard diving, making it 6-out-of-6 for China in diving.

The Chinese women's volleyball team beat Russia to move into the semifinals, where they face Brazil.
China's woman hoopsters beat Belarus to advance to the women's basketball semifinals for the first time in 16 years. Miao Lijie scored 28 points for China, who had taken the silver at the Barcelona Games 16 years ago. The Chinese women play world champion Australia in the semis.
China's Guo Shuang lived up to her expectation, winning the first cycling medal for the host country. She won the bronze in women's sprint.
Guo beat Willy Kanis of Netherlands 2-0, while Victoria Pentelon of Britain took the gold, beating Australia's Anna Meares 2-0.
Germany's Matthias Steiner became the strongest man of the Games, winning the gold in the men's +105kg weightlifting. He lifted 203kg in snatch and 258kg in clean and jerk for a winning total of 461kg.
