Five time Olympic gold medalist swimmer Ian Thorpe is here in Beijing to promote a TV series on the Beijing Olympics. The Australian has retired, but his days under the Olympic spotlight are far from over.

Thorpe will be the host for a TV series entitled "One World One Dream". He appeared at a press conference on Monday to launch the show, which will give viewers a better look at Beijing's preparations for the Games.

Ian Thorpe said "One world one dream is a series that have been made in regards to the Beijing Olympic Games. It's something I've been involved with, and have already filmed. It was very excited at looking at the three principles of what the Beijing Games are supposed to be about. Those three things being High-Tech Olympic Games, the Green Olympic Games, and of course, the People's Olympic Games."

One world one dream, the world is dreaming of the Olympic Games in Beijing.

In the series, Thorpe takes viewers on a tour around the streets of Beijing. He visits Olympic venues, and also speaks with BOCOG officials. Thorpe says his major concern for the upcoming games is pollution and air quality.

Ian Thorpe said "For the athletes that have to compete, it is of a concern. The swimming competition is going to take place indoor. But still, the travel from the venue to another, it does affect you. It's not good for you. You know the dust may be an issue. All of those things, BOCOG is trying to address."

The TV Series will be broadcast via CCTV-9, FOXTEL, Hong Kong's TVB, SkyNews, and Asian Media TV Network, starting in February.
