Sports Career:

She learned to swim as a kindergartener. Later, she entered a local swimming school at seven, and then joined the Shanghai team in 1984. Two years later, she was chosen by the national team for intensified training.

- 2nd 100m freestyle (55.47, Asian best and China's first Olympic medal in swimming ),
