The Western China Metropolis Daily has additionally revealed that more than 60 vocalists will sing the folk song "Please Stay Here, Our Faraway Guest".

India is flying high

The low-cost carrier SpiceJet Ltd has announced that freestyle wrestler Sushil Kumar, who won a bronze medal, can travel free on the airline all his life. Sushil has been accorded with the 'Flying for Life' recognition, says The Times of India.

SpiceJet Ltd chief commercial officer Samyukth Sridharan said: "We are delighted that Indians are making their mark in various disciplines in the ongoing Olympics.

"Sportsmen like Sushil Kumar and Abhinav Bindra (Olympics gold medal winner for air rifle shooting) have paved the path for more success to follow."

One dream, one gold

Owen Merritt had a dream on Wednesday that his son sprinted to gold in the 400m.

Then he woke up and went to work and was greeted by eager co-workers who wanted to know how his son had fared, according to the Virginian-Pilot.

The elder Merritt calmly turned to them and responded, "I don't know, but he won in my dream."

Owen Merritt's dream became reality a short time later as LaShawn Merritt indeed won the 400m.
