Brazilian world judo champion Tiago Camilo has vowed to treat every fight as if it was the final as he goes out today to add the 81kg Olympic title to his medal collection.

The 26-year-old, who won silver in the 73kg event at Sydney, faces an uneasy first round against Japan's Takashi Ono, the 2005 world silver medalist. "The 81kg is one of the most competitive categories and each fight will be like a final," says Camilo.

And he added: "I've worked hard every day at each practice. My goal is to become better and better and to become the best athlete that I can be."

Camilo could potentially face the intriguing prospect of meeting his Sydney conqueror, Italian Guiseppe Maddaloni, in the final here as both have since moved up a weight division.
