Updated: 2008-08-12 08:50 Led by Hana Machova's 14 points, five rebounds and two assists, the Czech Republic beat Mali 81-47 in a group B match. Jana Vesela and Katerina Elhotova scored 12 points apiece. Mali's Djenebou Sissoko was the game's high scorer, netting 24 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. No one else on the Mali team scored in the double digits. The opening quarter ended tragically for Mali, which scored only four points against the 24 by the Czech Republic. However, Mali dominated in the second quarter, gaining 18 points to their opponent's 15. The comeback effort was short-lived.
