 S Korea comes close

Asian champion South Korea left the first quarter down 24-15, but came back to outscore Athens bronze medal Russia 20-13 in the second and end the first half trailing 37-35. Russia led in rebounds but the South Koreans outscored again in the third quarter and narrowed the Russian lead to a single point in the third. Russia ended a see-saw of leads in the final quarter with a two-pointer, two foul shots and cemented its win with a final free throw. (China Daily 08/12/2008 page3) |
