On the Bird's Nest

Yes, I went to the National Stadium, or Bird's Nest, and it is marvelous. I have lived, worked and studied in China for more than seven years. Since graduating from the University of International Business and Economics, I have worked in Shandong, Beijing, and other Chinese cities. I am both impressed and excited at what I see happening in China. That is why I have called China my home for so long. But now, I am not there and I wonder if I will ever return. I hope I can get back to Beijing to watch the Olympic Games this summer at the Bird's Nest.

If the Beijing Olympic Games lets other countries know more about our country, it would be great. But I don't know if foreigners will realize how mighty China is when they see the Bird's Nest. Neither do I know if the Nest can show them our country's centuries-old history. Others may find that Beijing is becoming more modern, but even this cannot change the image of China in their minds.

Relay should go on
I feel terrible about the deaths of thousands of people in the earthquake.
But I do not think we should give up on the torch relay when it has already been through so much.
I feel Chinese people can hold the relay to mourn those who died and give their moral support and encouragement to the survivors.
I don't see China as a country that gives up so easily when something goes wrong, whether it is a snowstorm, riots, disease or an earthquake.
