A 9-year-old British girl, Holly Lindley (see photo), suffers from glycogen (糖原) storage disease, and has to drink 6 pints of milk mixed with cornflour every day in order to stay alive, the Daily Mail of London reported. Glycogen storage disease is a kind of inherited metabolic (新陈代谢的) disorder. Lindley is not able to use stored glucose as a form of energy, meaning that she must consume the simple sugar at frequent intervals. Her mother told the reporter that her daughter didn't like fizzy drinks which were loaded with sugar. She had to buy a great deal of milk in their household.
