The D-Class limo Chinese President Hu Jintao rode in while he inspected the troops at the 60th National Day celebration will be put into volume production, the China Youth Daily reported. The self-developed Hongqi HQE car by the First Automobile Works will be priced around RMB8m, said the report. Bulletproof all over, the vehicle is 6.4m long, 2.08m wide and 1.72m high.
据《中国青年报》报道，新中国成立60周年庆典上，胡锦涛主席乘坐的红旗检阅车即将批量生产，其市场售价预计约800万元。据悉，这款由一汽集团自主研制的红旗检阅车以红旗HQE为原型，被定位为D级豪华轿车，采用全防弹结构，车长6.4米，车宽2.08米，空载车高1.72米。

东盟峰会今日在泰举行
Over 15 reports are expected from those participating in the 15th ASEAN Summit and related events in Thailand from Friday to Sunday, Xinhua reported. Participants will tackle the financial crisis, food security, climate change and disaster management, among other issues. Premier Wen Jiabao will attend the summit between the ASEAN and China, the summit between the ASEAN and China, Japan and the ROK, and the East Asia Summit.
23-25日，东盟第15届峰会以及东盟与对话国系列峰会将在泰国举行，届时，中国国务院总理温家宝将出席中国与东盟领导人会议、东盟与中日韩领导人会议和东亚峰会。据新华社报道，峰会期间，预计将签订或发表超过15个文件，其主导议题包括应对金融危机、粮食安全、气候变化和灾害等。

索海盗劫持巴拿马货轮
Somali pirates with automatic weapons seized a cargo ship off Africa's east coast Thursday and are holding its 26 crew members hostage, AP reported citing the European Union's anti-piracy officials. The pirates captured the Panamanian-flagged MV Al Khaliq some 200 miles (320km) west of the Seychelles islands. Pirates also unsuccessfully attempted to hijack the Italian-flagged MV Jolly Rosso off the Kenyan coast.
据美联社援引执行打击海盗任务的欧盟海军称，22日，一艘悬挂巴拿马国旗的货轮在非洲东部海域遭到索马里海盗劫持，船上共有26人。据悉，这些海盗携带着武器装备，在塞舌尔320公里以西海域劫持了这艘名为"MV Al Khaliq"的货轮。海盗们还试图在肯尼亚附近海域劫持意大利籍货轮"MV Jolly Rosso"，但以失败告终。

Hangzhou plans to offer RMB200 for tips leading to the arrest of beggar gangs that use children and handicapped people, a local senior official said Thursday. The move came in response to reports that dozens of beggars have converged on downtown recently, with most appearing in pairs of a handicapped "parent" and a child aged 7-15. The Metropolitan Express said the beggars were likely organized, quoting witnesses as saying that dozens of children and handicapped adults were living in 2 vans parked in an open space.
据当地一政府官员22日透露，针对媒体日前披露杭州有非法"丐帮"出没，杭州将发动群众共同打击操作未成年人和残疾人行乞的幕后黑手，举报有价值信息者每次可获200元奖励。此前，有媒体称，杭州市区近来出现了许多"乞丐"，他们多为由残疾"父/母"和7-15岁儿童构成的二人组。《都市快报》援引目击者称，这些乞丐生活在两辆货车里，可能被某个集团操作。

九城在美国遭股东起诉
A US shareholder has sued Chinese online role-playing game developer The9 and its top executives, claiming their allegedly incomplete or false reports caused shareholders to buy stock at artificially inflated prices, Reuters reported. The accused includes company CEO Zhu Jun and company President Chen Xiaowei. The complaint also charges that The9 failed to disclose it was unlikely to renew its licensing contract with Blizzard Entertainment for the World of Warcraft. The9 Ltd was listed on Nasdaq in December, 2004.

The US government originally promised 120m doses of A/H1N1 flu vaccine by now. Only 13m have come through, AP reported. As nervous Americans clamor for the vaccine, production is running several weeks behind schedule. The delays have led to increasing demands for a quicker and more reliable way of producing vaccines.

Women 400 years from now will be shorter, fatter, more fertile and have healthier hearts, according to research led by evolutionary biologist Stephen Stearns of Yale University, Daily Mail reported. The researchers calculate that the typical woman in 2409 will be 2cm shorter and 1kg heavier than today's average. They will have their first child 5 months earlier and go through menopause 10 months later.

Lu Bin (see photo, L) of Jiangsu upset heavy favorite Zhang Peimeng to win the men's 100m at the 11th Chinese National Games Thursday night with a time of 10.25 seconds. Zhang Peimeng came in 2nd at 10.31 seconds. Hu Kai, Universiade gold medalist in 2005, raced with his iconic glasses and finished last in 10.59 seconds. On the women's side, Fujian's Wang Jing (R) crossed the line neck and neck with Jiangsu's Jiang Lan in a nail-biter of a race. Both runners finished in 11.50 seconds but Wang won in a photo finish.

Venezuela President Hugo Chavez called on Venezuelans Wednesday to stop singing in the shower and to wash in 3 minutes because the nation is having problems supplying water and electricity, Reuters reported. Low rainfall caused by the El Nino weather phenomenon meant water levels were critically low in hydroelectric dams that provide most of the country's energy, said Chavez.

A Marine Corps sergeant was sentenced to 18 months in prison and fined $25000 for pretending to be an injured war hero to get free seats at 13 events including banquets, concerts, a football game and a baseball game, the Fox News reported. 34-year-old David Budwah (see photo) admitted that he was never deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan, as he had claimed. He was actually a radio operator in Okinawa, Japan, from 2000 to 2006.
