沪高校火灾4女生跳楼亡
Four female college students jumped to their deaths from a dormitory balcony at the Shanghai Business School at 6:10 am Friday, as they tried to escape from a fire in their room. Two of the students were natives of Shanghai, while the others were from Jiangsu and Zhejiang. The fire was extinguished before it spread to other rooms and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
14日6时10分左右，上海商学院徐汇校区学生宿舍楼某寝室发生火灾，4名女生从6楼阳台跳下逃生，不幸当场死亡。4名学生中，其中两名是上海本地人，另两人分别来自江苏和浙江。据悉，大火目前已被扑灭，未殃及周边寝室。火灾原因还在进一步调查中。

我国4万亿投资细节公布
China's new RMB4 trillion economic stimulus package includes RMB1.18 trillion from the central government through 2010, said Mu Hong, vice director of the National Development and Reform Commission on Friday. Mu said the central government would add RMB100b of new investment during the 4th quarter, about 1/3 of which will be spent on rural residents' livelihood and infrastructure construction. "The RMB4 trillion is only part of the country's total investment. It is not the total," Mu said.
国家发改委副主任穆虹14日说，为扩大内需，到2010年底，中央的投资安排将达到1.18万亿元，可带动4万亿元的投资规模。他还透露，中央将在第4季度新增1000亿元投资，其中340亿元将用于加快农村民生工程和基础设施建设。穆虹称，这4万亿元仅仅是全社会投资的一部分，不等于全部的投资。

我国首家金融法庭成立
China's first court dealing specifically with financial disputes opened in Shanghai Thursday. The court, under the jurisdiction of the Shanghai Pudong New Area District People's Court, will preside over banking, securities and insurance cases that involve not more than RMB50m.
上海市浦东新区人民法院金融审判庭13日成立，这是我国基层法院成立的首家金融审判庭，负责处理涉及银行、证券、保险等领域的金额不超过5000万元的案件。

德国经济已经陷入衰退
The German economy, Europe's biggest, slipped into recession in the 3rd quarter as its gross domestic product (GDP) contracted by 0.5% compared with the previous quarter, the Federal Statistical Office said Thursday. That followed a 0.4% fall in GDP in the 2nd quarter. A recession is technically defined as 2 consecutive quarters of negative growth.
欧洲最大经济体德国已陷入衰退。该国联邦统计局13日公布的数据显示，第3季度国内生产总值倒退0.5%，而此前第2季度已出现0.4%的负增长。国内生产总值连续两个季度出现负增长的经济体即被定义为衰退经济体。

英海军与海盗正面交火
British Royal Navy commandos gave chase to suspected pirates off the coast of Yemen, killing 3 of them in a gunfight Wednesday, UK media reported. It is believed to be the first time the Navy has confronted Somali pirates after the UK navy got permission from the Somali government to do so. The ship the UK navy confronted was identified as the one involved in a hijacking attempt on a Danish cargo ship.
据英国媒体报道，英皇家海军12日在也门附近海域拦截一艘海盗船并与之交火，击毙3名海盗。这是英国海军获得索马里政府正式授权以来首次与海盗正面交火。这艘海盗船此前曾试图劫持一艘丹麦货轮。

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has picked former men's national team assistant coach Wang Baoshan (see photo) to be the new head coach, the Titan Sports reported Friday. The new national team will be set up in December to prepare for the upcoming Asian Cup qualifiers next January. Wang is said to be in a transitional role for the national team because the CFA still intends to hire a foreign coach.
《体坛周报》14日报道，中国足协已确定前国家队助理教练王宝山(见图)成为新一届国足主帅。新一届国足将于今年12月正式竖旗，备战明年1月份的亚洲杯预选赛。据悉，中国足协仍希望聘请外籍教练担任国足主帅，王宝山被认为是一个过渡性角色。

The first US "pregnant man" Thomas Beatie said in a recent interview he is expecting a 2nd child to be born next June. This is Beatie's first interview since he gave birth to a daughter this June. According to the survey, over 1m under-16s in the UK regularly use credit cards to buy the latest gadgets, computer games and fashion accessories online without parental permission.
