Yunnan exported $ 120 million worth of agricultural products in Jan

Yunnan exported 54,000 tons of agricultural products worth $ 120 million USD in Jan, according to Yunnan Customs. The export value of this sector accounts for 27.5% of the total export value of the province, ranking first among all the sectors.

The report showed that vegetables were the biggest export contributor in all categories of farm produce. Its export volume amounted to 39,000 tons, bringing in $53.78 million USD. Fruit was the fastest growing category and a total of $16.48 million USD worth of fruit weighing 12,000 tons was exported last month.

According to statistics, export to ASEAN, the first ranking export market of Yunnan, increased 13% to $63.61 million USD. Export to Korea and Japan surged 33% and 27% respectively, registering at $5.27 million USD and $4.64 million USD. In contrast to the growth momentum witnessed in Korea and Japan, performances for traditional markets decreased. For instance, export to the EU reduced 6.2% ($26.11 million), to Mexico moved down 4.7% ($6.09 million) and to Hong Kong tumbled 22.4% (4.65 million).
