A working conference for improving education in Urumqi’s Toutunhe district was held on March 10.
During the conference, a summary of last year’s education works and a working plan for this year was made.
Wang Aimin, director of the Toutunhe district publicity government, stressed the importance of promoting education and urged schools to put more focus on moral education at the conference.
According to local Toutunhe authorities, staff members of Toutunhe district education departments have made great achievements in improving children’s education in the Toutunhe.
Official statistics show that Toutunhe invested 596 million yuan ($86.33 million) in education in 2016, including a construction project for a new teaching building and an indoor basketball stadium at No 126 Middle School. Altogether 2.3 million yuan in student subsidies were dispersed in 2016, helping 14,479 students.
