Xinjiang Health Department announced recently that Xinjiang will seek partnerships with neighboring regions this year in the medical field and strive to develop into the medical service center of the Silk Economic Zone.

A "Silk Road Economic Belt" agreement was signed by 24 cities from eight countries along the ancient Silk Road, including China and Kazakhstan, in November 2013, to promote greater cooperation, development and prosperity among the countries.

The local government will improve its system of regional health care service cooperation, introduce advanced medical technologies, and promote medical tourism to attract more domestic and international visitors.
