Karamay girl steps up to the mic and impresses on CCTV

Luo Wenjie, a three-year-old girl from Karamay has sung her way to a bronze medal in the 2016 final of CCTV’s Super Baby Competition, a reality talent show held in Beijing on Aug 26.

Luo sang the popular Chinese children’s song, Reaching for Stars, amazing the judges with her beautiful voice and stage presence.

The sixth season of the hit TV show toured more than 200 locations in the search of talented children aged between three and 15 years old. The skills on display included singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments.

Only the 300 top performances made it through to the national final, which was taped and televised across several CCTV channels.

Luo’s mother encouraged her to sign up for the competition. “It’s a great challenge for Luo,” said her mother, “She had only taken 10 singing lessons at that time.”

Luo’s mother said, “The judges praised her singing and intonation. I hope she can work hard on her study as well as her singing. I will give her all of my support no matter what she wants to do.”

CCTV Super Baby Competition is an internationally accredited and professional contest that gives talented children a platform to express themselves. Super Baby now has open locations in more than 300 cities worldwide. As the most viewed TV broadcaster in China, CCTV has a network of 45 channels broadcasting different programs and access to more than one billion viewers.
