Training for migrant workers' children on how to approach and enrol in community primary schools and kindergartens was given by the Karamay district education bureau on March 28.

More than 70 staff members participated in the training.

Moving the service training directly into communities is more convenient to migrant workers. In Karamay, registration of migrant workers should occur within 9 hours after they arrive in the city.

Communities are the first step. Community workers send the guidelines and flowcharts to help the migrant workers fill in registration information. Parents who have children may make an appointment.

"This training aims to brief parents on the simplified application procedures. It is important to ensure the equal compulsory education rights of migrant children," said Li Jun, deputy director of the Karamay district education bureau.
