Karamay's Tianditu Training Center launched a five-day free training session on March 14-19 for local middle-aged and elderly people to learn how to use smart phones.
More than 30 Karamay residents attended the session at the Karamay Culture Center.
The training session included WeChat social networking, map searches, public transport information inquiries, mobile phone security, telecom fraud prevention and system settings. The teachers taught students one to one to make sure they fully understood the smart phone functions and were familiar with the operational skills.
"My children have no time to teach me to use a smart phone. I use my phone only to call and receive text messages. Even kids are better than me! I am very happy to join this activity," said a participant.
