Karamay Agriculture Industrial Park was recently recognized as an autonomous region level park by the Agricultural Industry Bureau of the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, the Karamay Daily reported.

"This recognition is good as it enhances our reputation in and outside of Xinjiang. We can also get support in industrial development, projects application and investment," said Sun Zhigang, vice director of the Administrative Committee of the Karamay Agriculture Industrial Park.

Karamay aims to be a cluster of agriculture companies by creating industrial parks and improving its investment environment. The park will take advantage of the favorable policies as well as its natural endowments such as abundant water, soil, light and heat, to incubate agricultural companies.

With an area of 554.9 square kilometers, the municipal agricultural industrial park is 10 kilometers away from the city center. A total of 35 agriculture companies and 5,000 residents have settled down in the park.

The park mainly focuses on bringing up leading companies in feed manufacturing, cattle husbandry, daily products manufacturing, organic vegetable plantations and ecological agriculture tourism.

So far, Karamay has cultivated two leading agricultural companies in Xinjiang and six companies with municipal support. A total of 12 of the park's products have received certificates as environmentally friendly products from the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The park also boasts scenic parks including Hailin Park and Yongshen Jinbi Resorts, and over 10 dining restaurants. There are more than 30 sight-seeing spots with dining facilities at the park.
