Karamay retired worker opens paper-cut exhibition

Tian Ermei, a retired resident in Fenghua Community in Karamay held a paper-cut exhibition at the Karamay Culture and Art Exhibition Hall on Nov 20-24.

Tian started to learn the art of paper-cutting after her retirement seven years ago. After many years of practice, she has now become a well-known artist in Karamay, winning awards in national paper-cut competitions.

Tian's paper-cut exhibition received support from administrative committee of Fenghua Community. Liu Wei, director of the committee, said that the exhibition was a good platform to showcase the beautiful art of paper-cutting as part of traditional Chinese folk culture and to encourage interaction among paper-cut amateurs in Karamay.
