Karamay builds infrastructure

Karamay plans to invest three billion yuan ($473 million) in 120 infrastructure projects.

Six are listed as key projects and will attract an investment of two billion yuan, 66 percent of the city's total infrastructure investment. They are Engineer Education Center, Cloud Computing Industrial park, Culture and Sports Center, Houbo Institute, Karamay No 2 People's Hospital Surgery Building, North Xinjiang Search Base and Karamay Relief Material Storage Center.

Since September 2011, over 30 buildings of the Engineering Education Base have been put into operation. The Image and Text Information Center have undergone outside decoration and are expected to finish by 2016.

Sixteen sub-projects have begun construction in the Cloud Computing Industrial Park. China National Petroleum Corporation's Xinjiang Regional Digital Network Control Center is under final checks. China Mobile Data Center finished its main body and is expected to begin trial operation by the end of the year.

The Culture and Sports Center has five individual projects: a science hall, a culture hall, a library, a youth activity center and a sports center.

The dormitory of Hobo Institute has finished. Teachers' apartments have undergone interior design and are expected to finish by the end of November.

The operation room and ICU at Karamay No2 Surgery Building have undergone decoration and the transmission system for medical gas is also under preparation.

The warehouse of the Relief Material Storage Center has finished construction and will have its final acceptance check.
