A delegation from the Youth Activity Center of China Association for Science and Technology, led by its vice director Shan Changyong, paid a working visit to Karamay in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region from Jan 12 to 14 to see the science and technology education there.

Accompanied by Abduhgini Igemberdi, the vice director of the Karamay Association for Science and Technology, the group visited the Convention Center, the Science and Technology Museum, Youth Science and Technology Activity Center and some schools. Igemberdi explained that Karamay encouraged schools to organize engaging scientific and technological activities to raise students' interests, and therefore improve the popularity of knowledge of science and technology.

Shan said after the visit that Karamay had made substantial achievements in science and technology education in recent years, which he pointed out can be proved by the existence of good facilities, dedicated science teachers, and teenagers with strong innovation ability. "Karamay's experience in science and technology education is a teaching example for other cities in China," Shan added.
