The 3rd China-Asia-Europe Expo got off to a flying start in the city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uyghur autonomous region, on Sept 5, with 33 enterprises from the city of Karamay taking part with all their latest developments and innovations in the petroleum sector on display.

The petroleum exhibition, sponsored by the Karamay government, is a vital part of the larger expo and has attracted many of the world's largest and most influential companies. An online exhibition planning is also taking shape.

The deputy mayor of the city of Karamay, Wang Gengsheng, announced that incentives and policies have been adopted, such as tax breaks, to help enterprises that invest in Karamay, and added, "Some emerging industries like food processing and garments are also developing rapidly in the region."

Karamay is a prefecture-level city in the north of the Xinjiang region, known for its vast oil reserves and production.
