Xiamen-based companies have reached a batch of agreements with their foreign counterparts at the first China International Import Expo (CIIE), which is held from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai.
Xiamen C&D Corp, a large-scale industrial and investment enterprise, has inked cooperation agreements with many foreign exhibitors, including Louis Dreyfus Co from France, one of four major grain producers worldwide, Thermo Fisher Scientific from the United States, a biotechnology product development company, and Anchor Food Professionals from New Zealand, a foodservice business of Fonterra.
Fonterra Co-operative Group, a multinational dairy co-operative, and C&D Corp has maintained friendly relations for many years.
Ruan Jianhua, vice-president of Fonterra in Greater China, said that the three-year dairy import agreement with C&D Corp will further advance their cooperation.
Fonterra is positive about the Chinese market as the country continues to open up wider to the outside world, according to Ruan.
Xiamen-based King Long United Automotive Industry Co, a leading passenger vehicle manufacturer in China, planned to purchase vehicle parts from ZF Friedrichshafen AG, a German auto parts maker.
Among the import manifest, steering systems and electric drive systems are the products the German company launched for the first time in China.
A total of 400 Xiamen companies involved in intelligent manufacturing, medical device, logistics, aerotechnics and finance have attended the CIIE, attracting more than 3,600 companies from over 172 countries and regions.
