The first district-level Taiwan Talent Service Center opened in Xiamen's Siming district, East China's Fujian province on Aug 20, with the aim of becoming a cross-Straits employment and entrepreneurial information sharing platform.
Jointly established by the local government of Siming district and the China Strait Talent Market, the service center upon its opening had aggregated the information of 1,333 jobs and 518 internship positions for Taiwan youth to consider, by cooperating with Taiwan associations, including Taiwan's 1111 Job Bank and the Taichung Youth Entrepreneurship Association, as well as more than 10 universities from Fujian and Taiwan, such as Xiamen University and Ming Chuan University.
Wang Rumin, general manager assistant of Xiamen Bank, said that the service center and its website are of great convenience and help for both Taiwan youth and Chinese mainland companies.
"Many Taiwan youths want to work on the Chinese mainland, but lack the relevant know-how of how to do so. But in the near future, Xiamen Bank will post the recruitment or internship information on the service center's website for any Taiwan youth to view, which will be very convenient for them, and hopefully it can also help attract more Taiwan youths to work on the Chinese mainland," added Wang.
"The service center provides great convenience and I hope to find like-minded partners through the platform to work together for cultural creative designs," said Hung Jui-ch'i from Taiwan, who is in the Entrepreneur's Training Camp of Peking University to start up her own entrepreneurial project.
Additionally, the center can provide services, including job training, career planning, and psychological consulting. It will also hold regular recruitment fairs as well as fellowship activities for better exchanges and communications between youths on both sides of the Straits.
