Over 30 percent of China’s top 500 enterprises are headquartered in Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin municipalities, according to the latest list jointly released by the China Enterprise Confederation and the Chinese Entrepreneurs on Saturday.
The biggest number of 96 companies are headquartered in Beijing, followed by Shanghai with 29 and Tianjin with 25.
The number of China’s top 500 enterprises headquartered in Tianjin surged by 25% in the past two years thanks to the attraction of Tianjin Binhai New Area. According to the Ministry of Commerce, it is the most attractive investment area in China thanks to the financial support and fiscal policies from the municipal government.
