The Chinese Painting Exhibition of Shandong Province was inaugurated on Aug 23 at the Art Gallery of the China National Academy of Painting (CNAP), cnr.cn reported.

Jointly sponsored by the CNAP and Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, the exhibition includes some 100 works by 14 renowned Shandong artists, such as Wang Xiaohui, Tang Xiuling, Liang Wenbo and Yue Haibo.

Lasting until Aug 30, the exhibition is part of the "New China Artists" series put on by the CNAP to showcase Chinese painting by artists from different provinces, in a bid to provide a platform as well as to promote cultural and artistic creation.

The "New China Artists" series studies their creations as well as the significance of their works in the development of national culture.
