Tai'an building on more business investment
2016-02-18

Mountain Taishan district in the city of Tai'an has welcomed 33 new business programs and initiatives recently, bringing in a total of 13.7 billion yuan ($2.1 million) in investment, the city's daily newspaper reported on Feb 15.

The economy in Shandong province has been growing in recent times, and Mountain Taishan district itself has attracted business programs specializing in energy, advanced equipment manufacture, modern finance and city welfare.

The new initiatives have the support of large and well-established corporations across the country, targeting urban development in the tourism city. In addition, a national level, light industry equipment research center is being built into one of the most advanced production bases in the country.

A real estate program, with a 1.5 billion yuan investment, is constructing a complex of commercial offices, business center, and residential area. Other programs include a robot research institute, cloud and digital, and 3D printing.

There are also a number of programs focused on improving social livelihood. A "tongrentang" traditional Chinese medicine store, a provincial-level middle school, and a kindergarten jointly built with Beijing Normal University, will help produce social and economic benefits, said Zhao Bin, executive general of the district.
