SXU team achieves long-distance quantum teleportation

Updated : 2018-11-06

Jia Xiaojun and his colleagues at Shanxi University recently managed to achieve continuous-variable teleportation of laser-light values across a distance of 6 kilometers using common optical fibre, laying the technical foundation for a continuous variable quantum computing system and quantum network construction.

The research article was published on Science Advances and recognized in the Nature journal.

The information transmitted through teleportation was replicated at the receiving location with a higher accuracy than would have been possible using classical physics, according to Nature.
