The two professors are Xie Yaoting, a professor of archaeology in the School of History and Culture, and He Tianping, a professor of philosophy in the Research Institute of History of Science and Technology at Shanxi University.

Xie’s project studies the 585 ancient tombs unearthed in Yicheng county, Shanxi province, with a history spanning from the early period of the Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC) to the early period of the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC).
