He explained the team's first theoretical prediction in 2015 and the successful experiment on the synthesis of borophene in 2016, arousing great interest among teachers and students from the chemistry department.

Yakobson also took part in a seminar at SXU's nanocluster lab after the lecture on April 7, where he exchanged ideas with teachers and students on the significance and prospect of 2D and 3D boron nanomaterials.

Professor Boris I. Yakobson graduated from the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1982, with doctorates in physics and applied mathematics. He has been devoted to the research of nanomaterials, computer simulation and low-dimensional materials, and has made great academic achievements in the field.
