Students from Rikkyo University in Japan came to Shanxi University (SXU) on Feb 26 for a three-week exchange program.

Yang Jun, vice-president of Shanxi University, welcomed the exchange students and summed up the achievements of communication between the two universities, at the opening ceremony of the advanced study and research class for the Japanese students on Feb 27.

He expressed his hopes that the exchange students will learn more Chinese at the university and contribute to the partnership between China and Japan.

Shanxi University launched a short-term advanced study and training project for students from Rikkyo University coinciding with the 30th anniversary of SXU-Rikkyo University friendship in December 2015, so as to further mutual cooperation and communication.

Founded in 1874, Rikkyo University is famous as a center for the humanities and social sciences.
