The academic finding was co-developed by Shanxi University’s Institute for Environmental Sciences and its partner institutions, the University of North Carolina, and the Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Researchers from the three universities applied the fastest laser flash photolysis and acquired data to prove the optical transitions in the direct transfer of protons. According to their experiments, the electron and the proton could transfer simultaneously or in sequence in some chemical reactions.
