Shanxi University conducted a fire drill on Nov 11.

Guided by regulations of university safety and maintenance put forward by the local education bureau and public security bureau, Shanxi University joined hands with Xinghualing fire prevention guards and the Taiyuan municipal public security bureau to conduct a fire drill at the Dadongguan campus of Shanxi University.

The drill began with the sounding of an alarm around 10 am. A series of simulation activities including "calling the police", "seizing an outlaw", "rescuing a hostage" and "firefighting" were conducted.

Around 4,000 students, as well as teachers, attended the fire drill, with officials from local government departments supervising from beginning to end to ensure the smoothness and safety of the simulations.

Han Yonghong, vice president of Shanxi University, declared the drill a complete success that has greatly strengthened students’ safety awareness.

"Security of campus is of paramount importance", Han said, "and we will continue to take measures to make sure of it".
