Virtual Biennale Prague opens in Pingyao

The tenth Virtual Biennale Prague 2018 – Prague International Art & Design Exhibition opened at Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School on Dec 12.

The exhibition is being sponsored by the Altan Klamovka Gallery, the Academy of Fine Arts at Shanxi University, and Pingyao Modern Engineering Technical School.

The biennale showcases artists' poster designs on a certain theme. Artists participating in the event are allowed to create black and white posters on established themes, reflecting popular social issues from a variety of perspectives and expressing plane concepts using humor or biting criticism.

The theme for this year is fake news, which can be interpreted from a wide number of angles –– from personal issues to things that impact society as a whole.

The tenth Virtual Biennale Prague will involve both online and offline events, with exhibition sites located in Altan Klamovka Gallery in Prague, and in Pingyao. The Chinese part will exhibit selected entries and individual posters by an international jury and members of the organizing committee of the event, as part of celebrations for its 10th anniversary.
