Pingyao hosts intl investment forum

Culture, art and urban investment were the order of the day at an international forum in Pingyao, Shanxi province, July 20.

An initiative of the United Nations’ Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the forum was also part of the Sculpture Projects Ping Yao (SPPY).

Local and international guest speakers shared on the topic of "soft skills" with UNIDO Senior Coordinator Gong Weixi telling audience that "culture and investment are inseparable."

The forum consensus was that culture should be front and centre of concerns for investment with a view towards greater economic growth. As a conduit for society's progress in developing intelligence and spirit, culture is clearly an area worthy of more time in the spotlight.
