Ministry of Culture and Tourism delegation visits Pingyao

A delegation from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism visited Pingyao to learn more about the county's tourism industry on May 22.

The group learned about local investment and the operation and development of local tourism projects, such as Another Glance at Pingyao, a play depicting scenes from the county's history, and Pingyao International Photography Festival.

After touring a number of different sites, the group attended a seminar where they concluded that the county’s culture is vital in attracting tourists. Many in the delegation pointed out the importance of cultural performances which demonstrate regional characteristics in driving the local tourism industry.

The delegation urged the creation of more cultural brands and the development of tourism based on Pingyao’s unique cultural heritage. They emphasized that this would bring more social and economic benefits to the area.
